Job Description
OBJECTIVES & VALUES:
As a Sales Executive you are expected to contribute fully to the corporate objectives and the objectives of the Healthcare Business Unit. Above all, you are to achieve the personal objectives outlined.
It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of the current year’s objectives for each of the above. If you have any doubt as to the content or meaning of your objectives you should contact your line manager or Human Resources.
All tasks that you undertake on behalf of Datamonitor will be guided by our corporate values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospect and convert potential and existing clients to meet revenue targets: Through telephone work question, present and sell to a set and defined potential client database. Primarily single copy reports and transaction selling. Network through accounts to find correct decision maker. Constantly be aware of opportunities to sell and upsell the client’s products within the defined client database.
Maintain and build up the database: Accurate coding of the database. Cleaning of the database with correct client contact details. Adding additional names to the database. Accurate and timely inputting of the correct client information including records of conversations, client needs and reasons to purchase/not to purchase DM products.
Maintain high level of activity: To meet the required targets of telephone calls, time on the telephone, effectives/pitches and targeted leads as set by the Sales Director. This should result in a sell, definable progress towards the sales, or documented reason as to why a sale didn’t take place.
Develop key skills for a sales career: Show the desire to learn to be a good sales person. Learn the company’s products and services. Demonstrate a professional, positive and enthusiastic manner. Be a team player adding to the team spirit.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
A good science degree, plus:
• Basic sales skills – opening, closing, probing, listening and matching product to client needs
• Telephone communication skills – professional etiquette, articulate, succinct
• Product and industry knowledge
• Ability to assimilate complex information
• Operate a sales database
