Events Business Development Executive – Events/Exhibitions – £32k plus excellent commission
Our client is looking for a bi-lingual Business Development Executive to join their Events/Exhibitions team, based in South West London.
Our client is the largest organiser in the world of oil & gas related events and are the recognised market leaders in key markets including Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Their portfolio of events span across a variety of international territories including Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Benin, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the US and now looking to launch in South America. Working directly with government ministries and leading companies in their target markets, our client delivers market-leading conferences that reinforce business and bring new opportunities to all participants.
The role of Business Development Executive will be to develop the sponsorship revenue on a portfolio of events in South America working closely with a senior BDM or VP, selling mostly to new business areas. Hitting KPI’s on performance and hitting the sponsorship targets set. This will be via the phone for the first six to nine months. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Business Development. They will also work closely with other event team members (producers, marketing sales & event managers) to ensure smooth delivery for clients.
To be considered for the role of Business Development Executive you must have a good track record in big-ticket sales for at least 18 month and good experience with face-to-face presentations. Fluent in Spanish, you must be a self-starter and completely motivated. At the same time, you must be able to liaise with different divisions within the company including Producers, Event Managers and Marketing to successfully deliver a project to its closure.
Proposals are important; therefore, you must be able to display a clear and concise writing style. Degree level education would be advantageous.
- Devise a sales strategy for each project with the Senior BDM and manage time accordingly.
- Help produce Investment Meeting Report and present the IM Pitch to the Board.
- Sell to the key clients and new business areas.
- Reach the sales targets set.
- Adhere to BDM standards at all times
- Liaise with the producer and marketing division during the project.
- Write business proposals and effective sales emails to clients you have pitched.
- Deliver the product at the event and manage their involvement at the conference.
